Introduction[]

Towards the Endless Sky

Chapter 4 cover

Story 41
"This... This is..." "What's this?"
As soon as Ritmo climbed out of the heap of rocks,
he shouted with excitement, running towards the huge craft in the distance.
Story 42
"So, it is really here..." said Rossa.
Fisica stood up without a word, grabbing the Silence Border Guard Manual tightly in her hands.
"'Ciel' the aircraft?" said Fisica. "Ciel" was the only word that she could understand in the manual.
Rossa looked at Fisica in surprise, "How do you know?" Nero pointed at the book in Fisica's hands.
"Will you tell us now," said Fisica, "about 'the outside world'?"
Story 43
"Alas!" Rossa sighed, "Where shall I begin?"
"Hey!" Ritmo shouted from afar, interrupting Rossa, "Hurry up and follow me, everyone!"
"...Acting like a child," Nero commented.
"Rossa, tell me as we walk." said Fisica. "Right." said Rossa.
Story 44
"This maze was constructed before Al Niente, and it was originally built as an escape route."
"Escape route?" asked Fisica.
"Indeed. Because the study of notalium is extremely dangerous."
"That's impossible. How could it be dangerous?" Fisica said,
"Al Niente was caused by chaos and then loss of energy;"
The theory that tuning the notalium can lift Al Niente works in the opposite way-"
"Tuning brings everything back in order, to stability and then resonate,"
Fisica suddenly realized something as she spoke, "Unless, unless..."
Rossa looked at Fisica, "Now have you finally realized as well?"

Section 1[]

Raise (radio edit) 1
"We are living in Al Niente, where energy is chaotic,"
"and therefore tuning helps to restore the world order." Rossa said.
Nero continued, "However, what about the time before Al Niente?"
All of a sudden, Ritmo's shouting came from ahead of them,
"Woah! What's going on with these rays of light?"
"Such strong energy! Seems like we can't go on without tuning!"

Raise (radio edit) 2
"Order brings energy," says Nero.
"But in a world that is in fact not out of order, it is dangerous to produce too much energy simultaneously;"
"Eventually it become saturated and overloaded, and finally dangerous."
"... The 'Apocalypse'..." Fiscia mumbled.
"Indeed," Rossa said, "notalium was originally created as- a kind of weapon."
"And the 'Apocalypse' was one of the most powerful types of weapon," said Nero.

Section 2[]

Geranium 1
"In the past, we had tried to construct
a tuning device as well," Rossa said.
Nero gazed into distance in silence.
The three of them walked quietly.
Fisica could not help but ask,
"What happened in the end?"
Rossa looked at Ritmo from behind in the distance
and slowly started to speak.

— Before first play
Geranium 2
"In the end…" said Rossa,
"We were not as talented as Ritmo."
"Ritmo? Talented?" Fisica said.
"Failed." said Nero.
"But ... ..." Rossa appeared unwilling
at the thought of mentioning the matter.
"We failed." said Nero.

— After first play
Story 45
"After that," Rossa continued abruptly to say,
as if she wished to change the topic quickly.
"we left the village and joined the Silent Border Guard."
"To compensate." said Nero.
"Not true." Rossa disagreed.
"To atone." said Nero.
"No!" Rossa rebutted.
"Out of guilt." said Nero.
"Definitely not!" Rossa exclaimed.
Now Fisica was speechless.
"All the data kept in the Notalium Administration,
showed that Al Niente devoured the entire world,"
"leaving only our village intact..."
She thought to herself, wondering if there was something left unsaid.
Story 46
"Hey," Ritmo turned around, wanting to join the conversation,
"you just mentioned the Guard, what is it exactly?"
"An organization," Rossa said.
"to maintain the status of Al Niente in the world."
"And to make sure the seal of
the 'Apocalypse' remains unchanged,"
"search for the secret passages,
and investigate the relics of the old world." Nero added.
"Not that long ago, the monitor detected an unusual change
in the energy of Al Niente in the South," Rossa said,
"That is why we were sent here to investigate the situation.
We followed the map and came across the underground maze."
"Then, we encountered you." said Nero.
"Well, you—who were going to open
the seal of the weapon!" Rossa said loudly.
"Woah, scary!"
Ritmo was shocked by Rossa's serious tone.

Section 3[]

Edge of the world 1
"Hang on," Fisica seemed to have noticed something,
"you just said," to 'maintain' Al Niente?"
Nero nodded, and Rossa agreed: "That is correct."
"What!" Ritmo was shocked,
"But, but then,
the world will remain black and white forever, won't it?"
"The Silence Border Guard should have decent technology."
Fisica was, however, comparatively calm,
"Why wouldn't you want to use the technology
to restore the world?"
Rossa sneered. "Are you as naive as you act?"

— Before first play
Edge of the world 2
"Even if you are both extraordinarily talented," said Rossa,
"do you really think you can restore the whole world just by yourselves?"
"You are not going to sit idly by, are you?"
Ritmo was a little anxious and angry at the same time.
"What kind of organization is the Silence Border Guard exactly?
Why maintain Al Niente?"
Fisica asked, "Can you tell us?"
However, there was another answer, wich Fisica was even more eager to find out.
After all, what else is there in the outside world?

— After first play
Story 47
The four of them stood firm.
At last, Rossa sighed.
"Alas! One could never imagine how terrifying it was
when Al Niente happened,"
"unless they had witnessed the moment..."
Rossa hesitated to continue.
Seeing Rossa's reaction, Nero, who rarely spoke,
opened up while he stood aside
"We, The Silence Border Guard, are a group of survivors,
who have lived through various disastrous catastrophes."
Said Nero.
"We profoundly understand the potential damage notalium could cause."
"Therefore, tuning is strictly forbidden
unless it is extremely necessary."
"Not even for the reason of restoration of the world."
Nero went on to say:
"Only when exploring the devices of the old world
were we allowed a minimal amount of tuning."
"We investigated all the technology and intelligence
left behind from the old world,
in order to prevent them from
being used again as a weapon one day."
"If usage of notalium is not strictly forbidden,
the world will probably go through Al Niente again."
"And this time, how many places will survive?" added Rossa.
"After taking you to the Second Precint of the Guard,
we planned to return and 'counter-tune' all the devices."
Rossa looked back at the collapsed exit of the maze,
"But it seems like we won't be able to
go back in for the time being."
Nero said, "According to our calculations,
it is more important that we transport the aircraft back."
"After we are back, we shall send other teams
to reinforce the seals in this area."

Section 4[]

Niente 1
"No!" Ritmo shouted, "I don't understand!"
"Why is tuning not even allowed?
Isn't it wonderful to restore colour to the world?"
"Well, tell me, are you able to face the consequences
once the tuning fails?" Rossa stared at Ritmo coldly,
"Even if your survived, it is still very likely
that your beloved ones would be lost."

— Before first play
Niente 2
Ritmo looked at Rossa firmly.
"My tuning will never fail."

— After first play
Story 48
The two of them refused to stand down,
no one would give in first.
"There is no point in arguing over this now," Fisica said.
"Nero, let me ask you something. The Silence Border Guard
possess more information about the world right?"
Nero nodded.
"If we go back with you, may I take a look at it?"
Fisica asked.
"Yes.""No!"
Nero and Rossa answered almost at the same time.
"Don't you encourage them all the time!" Rossa said angrily.
"You're upset." said Nero,
"You forget that they have saved you."
"And we will not be able to bring the aircraft
back to the base without them."
"Uh..." Rossa was speechless.
"...Alright."

Section 5[]

Protoflicker 1
"Since you love tuning so much, why don't you try
restarting the aircraft?" Rossa said provocatively.
"How?" Asked Fisica.
"The principles here work the same way as in the maze,"
said Nero, "with a special resonance."
"That's right." said Rossa,
"While unlocking the last lock
a great resonance is created for the engine,"
"and we will be able to fly up to the heavens
as long as the tuning is successful."
"Fly up to the heavens!" Ritmo said, "Leave this to me!"

— Before first play
Protoflicker 2
"This special resonance device is really peculiar,"
Fisica thought.
"I really want to study how this works."
"Hey! Fisica! Come over here!"
Ritmo shouted from far away.
With the resonance, the ground started to shake.
"I'll be there right away-"
Fisica responded and ran towards the other three.

Stasis 1

Stasis 2
"Aircraft! Aircraft! Fly to the sky!"
Ritmo shouted with excitement
and rushed up to the deck like a child.
The others followed Ritmo onto the deck,
while the tremor quietened down.
Fisica, however,
intuitively sensed something had gone wrong.
It was not only the conflict between her and Rossa and Nero.
It was not only the fear of trying to fly for the first time.
Fisica thought it seemed that
there was something she had not figured out yet.

— After first play
Story 50
"Are you fine operating it?"
Rossa asked Nero in the cockpit.
"It's explained in the given information. No problem."
said Nero.
"Well, I'll leave that to you then.
Let's go back to the Guard's headquarters."
Rossa then looked towards Fisica and jokingly said,
"If anything goes wrong, you should be skillful enough
to solve the problems. Haha."
Fisica looked at the various devices on the dashboard,
they felt inexplicably familiar.
"Now, ready for take-off!" Rossa gave the order.
Outside the cockpit, came Ritmo's excited shout.

Raise (radio edit) 3
"Notalium is a double-edged sword," Nero said.
"No," said Rossa, "there is only danger in the nature of notalium. There is absolutely no need for its existence."
For no reason, Fisica suddenly thought of her parents upon hearing this sentence.
A despairing feeling rose from the bottom of her heart.

Geranium 3
"Alas," Rossa sighed. "to fail tuning is really horrifying."
"We were really lucky," said Nero.
"However," Rossa looked up at the sky, "not everyone was as fortunate as us."
Terrifying scenes came to Fisica's mind, but she could not bear thinking further.

Edge of the world 3
Do we have to clash with each other?
For a moment, the same idea flashed across the minds of the four of them.

Niente 3
Rossa was thinking,
"Humph. Though you might not be completely bragging."
Ritmo was thinking,
"I, will definitely protect you, without a doubt..."
Nero did not say a word. It is difficult to read his mind.
Many conflicting ideas came to Fisica's mind.
Finally, she has a clearer idea.

Protoflicker 3
What Fisica did not notice was that a tiny line of red text was appearing below the device.
"Attention: Destination set. Cannot be changed."

— After completing three challenges
Stasis 3
The dust-ladern aircraft, however,
was making a smooth-running noise,
as if it was looking forward to flying into the endless sky.
